Xander Quinn

Alexander James Quinn.  Writer, actor, poet, lover.

As the major creative force behind Quinn's Thespians, 'Xander Quinn has made a name for himself throughout the Silver Moon Empire.  Mind you, it's not always for his theatre performances.  His reputation as a admirer of women nearly outrivals his reputation as an actor, although Quinn himself is quite discreet about the identities of his conquests.  He is confident and charming both onstage and off; he rarely wants for sponsors for his troupe's performances and travels.

Xander's plays range from clever presentations of traditional folk tales to impelling original works to risqué stories rumored to be based on some of his own experiences.  Most are of a humorous vein, but he has been known to surprise his audiences with a mystery or tragedy occasionally.

His voice has an amazing range; booming to reach the farthest corner of an audience, or lower to sweetest honey as he murmurs in a maiden's ear. He tends to dress lavishly, but do not dismiss him as a fop; he moves with a rare masculine grace, and the rapier he sometimes carries is not a stage prop.

The recent performances of Quinn's Thespians have caught the attention of some fairly wealthy patrons; rumors abound of a permanent theatre to be built somewhere in Dreven.

What you see:  Offstage: A male human, just over 6' tall.  To describe him as dark haired and dark eyed would be true but inadequate. Darkest brown eyes seem to hold a merry twinkle at all times, as if he's privy to a joke that no one else has realized.  His heritage is probably Thermadoran, and his clothing is of the latest trend and the most stylish of fabrics.  Onstage: Anything.

What you don't see:  'Xander is a perfectionist and demands the same from the actors in his troupe.  They do not simply learn staged sword-fighting, they are all trained to use a real blade.  They are required to read well enough to read his scripts, but must also memorize them so thoroughly they do not need to see the script at rehearsals.  Despite (or perhaps due to) these high standards, his troupe is very loyal to him; they've come to realize that his methods reap far greater rewards than they might normally earn.  'Xander is an excellent swordsman, and in his youth was a fair con artist and thief.  He does not seem to have lost those skills in the years since.
